Experience

Nicole (she/her) is a passionate and caring registered therapist and social worker who has worked with children, adolescents and adults in various therapeutic settings. She has experience facilitating group and individual therapeutic sessions, working with folks experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, eating disorders, trauma, grief, substance use issues and more.

Training

She is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers. Nicole holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Victoria and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. Throughout her schooling, she focussed her research on the mental health and wellbeing of children and their families.

Nicole’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and strengths-based. Her practice incorporates elements of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Nicole continues to grow and develop her practice by participating in ongoing training and clinical supervision.

Interests

Outside of work, Nicole is an avid traveler who has lived in Australia and New Zealand. She enjoys skiing, scuba diving, camping and any opportunity she can to be outside with family and friends.

Experience

Aviva (she/her) has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, parents and families. In addition to her work at Carmanah, Aviva works as a dietitian for the Fraser Health Eating Disorders program and in an outpatient child and youth eating disorder program. Before becoming a dietitian she worked in nutrition research specializing in iron deficiency and anemia.

Aviva is empathetic, calm, caring, non-judgemental and uses a Health at Every Size informed approach. She is passionate about helping clients find a healthy relationship with food and their bodies and believes in collaborating with clients to help them achieve their goals.

Training

Aviva Rappaport, MSc, RD is a registered dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees with honours distinction at the University of British Columbia and completed her dietetic training at McGill University.

Interests

Aviva enjoys spending time outside, trail running, traveling locally and globally and trying new recipes.

Aviva provides nutrition counselling to adults and youth. Experience: Nancy has many years of experience working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, trauma, PTSD, emotion dysregulation, relationship and attachment challenges, and many other mental health concerns. Before attaining her master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and becoming a therapist, Nancy worked as a corrections officer and even spent some time living in Korea working as an English teacher. Nancy is caring, non-judgmental, empathetic, and presents with a calm nature. Nancy believes that healing oneself is something that comes with time and compassion. She has worked with folks in both individual and group settings. She works hard to provide people with the tools necessary to live a healthy, happy, productive life.

Training: Nancy is a registered clinical counsellor with BCACC. She is formally trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), EFFT (Emotion Focussed Family Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Attachment Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing as well as others. Nancy is devoted to helping individuals understand their challenges and begin to heal themselves through therapeutic work.

Experience Krista (she/her) has many years experience working with children (6+), adolescents, adults, parents and families. Before completing her Masters in Counselling Psychology and becoming a therapist, she was a youth worker and pharmacy technician.

Krista has a true passion for helping others and takes pride in providing solid assessments and efficient, evidence & relationship-based treatment.

Krista’s clients have said that she is compassionate, non-judgemental , relatable, and inclusive. She has a wide range of experience in mental health and specializes in helping clients with depression and low mood; bipolar disorder; trauma & PTSD; anxiety (worries, phobias, panic, somatic/ somatization concerns); eating disorders (ARFID/picky eating, Binge Eating/ BED, Bulimia, Anorexia etc); & emotional dysregulation, including emotional over-control/rigidity, self-injurious behaviours, and suicidal ideation. Susanne has experience supporting teens and adults with eating disorders and body image concerns. Susanne has a warm, compassionate and genuine style. She helps people build strong relationships with the people they care about and believes that getting there comes through understanding ourselves. Susanne is a parent of two teenagers, and runs parent groups that equip parents with the confidence to navigate the complex challenges that come with all families.
